Job Title: Hand Therapy Occupational Therapist Band: Band 5/6 Location: Burton-on-Trent, Staffordshire Working Hours: 37.5 hours Rate: Competitive, to be discussed upon application An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Hand Therapy Occupational Therapist to join our esteemed NHS client’s dynamic team in Burton-on-Trent, Staffordshire. This position is available for an immediate start on a short-term contract, offering competitive rates. Key Responsibilities: In this role, you will provide high-quality and specialist hand therapy interventions to a wide variety of outpatients, including the advanced assessment and treatment of orthopedic hand trauma, elective surgery, rheumatology, and GP-referred patients. You will manage a caseload of routine and complex patients, utilising specialist skills in the provision of static and dynamic splints to prevent impairment and improve function, independence, and quality of life. Your responsibilities will include conducting individual and group education sessions, using advanced clinical reasoning skills to analyse, interpret, and make judgments on complex facts or situations, and formulating client-centered and specialised programs of hand therapy treatment based on current evidence. Additionally, you will evaluate patient progress, reassess and alter treatment programs as required, and communicate complex condition and functional risk/limitation-related information to patients and carers.
