The Director of Infrastructure at this thriving manufacturer of precision engineered components is looking to strengthen the IT team with the recruitment of an IT Infrastructure Engineer who will support operations in Burnley. The key focus of the role is to organise and oversee the lifecycle, security and maintenance of computer infrastructure including servers, storage, network systems, and management components. Within this key role, typical responsibilities will be to: - Build, deploy, maintain, and repair network and computer infrastructure. Install, evaluate, and maintain network systems and communications. Assist with network architecture design, feasibility studies, and cost analysis. Act as an escalation point for the helpdesk team and infrastructure technicians. Monitor daily backup operations and ensure successful data management. Perform regular health and security monitoring of network, server, and end-user equipment. Support and maintain Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and GPO configurations. Manage Azure and O365 cloud security, including Intune and Exchange Online. Support existing telephony infrastructure and coordinate with enterprise support groups. The successful IT Infrastructure Engineer will: - Will have experience in IT infrastructure management. Microsoft and/or Cisco certification preferred. Experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus. Strong technical skills and knowledge of routers, switches, firewalls, and operating systems. Ideally hold a degree qualification.
