Fabrication Workshop Manger- Aberdeen
The Role
Responsible for the fabrication department for production of client’s complete range of products. You will be responsible for all fabrication workshop activities in Aberdeen and be the liaison between the fabrication workshop, other departments and the management team whilst adhering to the clients QHSE standards, responsibilities, policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
* Manage the activities of fabrication workshop personnel ensuring all work is completed in line with required production timelines.
* Co-ordinating tasks, managing production schedules and updating progress to management team and allocating resources are part of their daily responsibilities.
* Co-ordinate with design and project teams to ensure our products meet the design specifications.
* Ensure work is carried out effectively and efficiently, safely and according to established procedures.
* Assist workforce with any technical issues encountered, provide guidance and support.
* Ensure materials required to carry out fabrication tasks are identified and requested in a timely manner to meet production schedules.
* Ensure work carried out is monitored and quality control procedures are followed and documented.
* Inspect work in progress and completed products to ensure compliance with specification and issued design documents.
* Ensure a high level of housekeeping in both workshop and yard areas.
* Ensure that the Quality, Health and Safety and Environmental Management Systems are followed and any problems, perceived or real, are reported.
* Enforce safety protocols to ensure workforce follow HSE guidelines.
* Identify potential hazards and implement safety measures.
* Implement new fabrication techniques and technologies to improve product quality, reduce costs, and enhance operational efficiency.
* Motivate and lead fabrication team.
* Address issues and conflicts, encourage teamwork and foster a positive work environment.
* Carry out any other duties as required by management.
Requirements
* Time served tradesman City & Guilds, NVQ level 3 or HNC in a relevant discipline.
* Have a strong understanding of fabrication techniques, materials, and metalwork machinery and associated health and safety regulations.
* 10+ years of Fabrication experience.
* Knowledge of torque machines would be an advantage.
* Knowledge of hydraulic system installations would be an advantage.
* Proven leadership and supervisory experience in a similar role.
* Good attention to detail and high standard of document completion.
* Ability to manage personnel and delegate work effectively.
* Effective communication skills with ability to co-ordinate with workforce, management, design engineers and other departments.
