We have a fantastic opportunity available for a Strategy and Commissioning Officer - Older People to join our award-winning Adult Social Care Team here at Wokingham Borough Council, on a full time, permanent basis.
As the Strategy and Commissioning Officer - Older People, you will work together with the Head of Service for Strategic Commissioning and other members of the Strategy, Commissioning and Performance Team to drive and implement the fast-paced transformation of the Adult Social Care and Health services. The aim is to deliver better outcomes for people, improved value for money, and a sustainable high quality Adult Social Care system for the people of the borough of Wokingham, in line with our strategic priorities set out in the Adult Social Care Strategy.

Key Responsibilities:
* Supporting commissioning activity across all specialisms within Adults Services with a focus on older people
* Understanding our local market of care providers and supporting a diverse range of care and support services
* Procuring and contract managing a number of services which support older people in Wokingham
* Ensuring services we commission enable us to meet Care Act 2014 and future social care reform requirements and are high quality, effective, demonstrate value for money and maximise outcomes for residents
* Working with a range of internal and external stakeholders to shape and deliver local priorities as set out in the directorate strategies
Candidate Requirements:
* Experience of the commissioning cycle as it applies to adult care and support, (within an older people service would be advantageous)
* Knowledge of the Local Authority Care Act market shaping responsibilities
* Committed to customer care and a strong advocate of inclusion and equal opportunities
