Duties of the Post:
The main duties of the post will include:
The duties of the post, some of which will require physical effort such as standing for long periods, walking distances, climbing stairs and using cleaning equipment will include;
• Cleaning communal areas of the residential buildings to pre-determined standards, including student kitchens, and corridors, toilets, equipment, furniture and fittings.
• The cleaning of bedrooms and en-suite area after occupancy, including ceiling, walls, windows and furniture.
• Move furniture and soft furnishing during and after cleaning as necessary, removing and replacing soft furnishing as required.
• Servicing conference client’s rooms as required, including changing bed linen.
• Report any defects or repairs to the Senior Supervisors where necessary.
• The application of techniques that comply with COSHH guidance and health and safety policy and procedures.
• To provide cleaning cover across all University buildings within either Southend or Loughton campus sites as and when required by management.
• Undertake any other such tasks as may be assigned by Managers/Supervisors.
• Participation in all training that is deemed to be necessary.
• Ensuring the safe storage of cleaning equipment and chemicals at all times.
• The use of ICT equipment for quality assurance processes, annual leave applications, self-certification etc. (training will be provided).
