To be responsible for the installation of multi utilities for a portfolio of Projects. This will include the management of customer relations, staff and contractors ensuring that networks are built safely, to the correct specification and to the Groups, asset owners and Client satisfaction and on programme.
Specific Responsibilities/Tasks
1. Complete initial and ongoing site meetings and liaison with the Client regarding safety, technical standards and work programming.
2. Initial meetings require the relevant operational / SHEQ documentation to be completed and returned within a timely manner.
3. Issue and explain client requirements and technical standards as and when required, to the client, workforce and customers.
4. Brief Clients and site staff on the required specification and installation methods, and material storage requirements for works undertaken on our behalf.
5. Supervise that all network assets are constructed in a timely and safe manner.
6. Supervise that all assets are constructed as designed and in accordance with approved methods, standards and specifications. This includes work undertaken by the Client on the Groups behalf.
7. Ensure that all assets are recorded accurately and efficiently.
8. Manage any direct labour or Contractors employed by the client on your portfolio of activities / contract.
9. Manage and ensure the efficient processing of any variations to works planned or being completed.
10. Maintain a comprehensive and accurate site diary with photographic records, to ensure works are completed as planned.
11. Provide technical advice to the Client, Customers, Contractors and employees.
12. Manage productivity to ensure all works are delivered on time and to budget.
13. Manage the quantities and storage of materials on the portfolio of projects to ensure waste is kept to a minimum.
14. Ensure the accurate completion of incident investigation and reporting, including utility damages.
15. Audit teams and Contractors deployed on your portfolio of activities in adherence to the Groups Audit Programme.
16. Complete, review and record all site audits and file accordingly, ensuring audits are all completed to the required standard.
17. Ensure the prompt and satisfactory resolution of any raised ‘Corrective Actions’.
18. Carry out and record annual appraisals and competency interviews with direct reports.
19. Ensure competencies of staff and contractors meet the relevant mandated Job Profile(s) of the Group and site specific requirements.
20. Provide accurate quality work within the department and wider Group.
21. Assist your Line Manager in the development of greater efficiency within the Group.
22. Any other duties as deemed appropriate by the Line Manager. Comply with the latest company procedures, legislation and industry skills on all aspects of day-to-day work.
Training and Qualifications
1. Attend mandatory training courses as defined within the company training matrix.
2. Keep up to date with legislation and record ‘Continued Professional Development’ (CPD).
Qualifications & Training
1. A comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Office software, especially Microsoft Project, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
2. SCO Qualifications (SCO Core, permit to work, Form of authority, Routine Operations) – Preferred.
3. SHEA Gas, Power and Water.
4. Safe Control of Mains Connections (Water) – Senior Competency Person.
Technical Skills & Experience
1. Extensive experience within same role, or similar within the civil engineering sector.
2. Self-driven, results-oriented, with a ‘can do’ attitude without compromising safety and/or compliance.
3. Ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders, including employees, management, regulatory agencies, and the community.
4. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
5. Confident, with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to liaise with managers at all levels within a business.
