Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Hollywood is the flagship casino resort of Hard Rock International, owned by the Seminole Tribe of Florida. Responsibilities
The Public Relations Specialist reports to the Director of Marketing & Public Relations to support the Public Relations Department through the execution of public relations initiatives with the intent to increase guest patronage and profitability, enhance brand awareness, protect the organization’s reputation and drive publicity for Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Hollywood. This is done through actively pursuing positive media exposure; organizing and supporting onsite media tours; and supporting internal job functions.
Essential duties include, but are not limited to :
1. Organize and implement media relations and public relations functions in a fast-paced environment.
2. Develop PR strategies and campaigns that align with brand objectives.
3. Write press releases, media alerts, and copy for online content.
4. Proofread marketing materials.
5. Draft website copy and maintain current press kit.
6. Interface with PR agency partners.
7. Provide PR support for on-property filming and media broadcasts.
8. Coordinate and manage media events for journalists and influencers.
9. Act as a brand ambassador at special events.
10. Maintain photo galleries of property shots and events.
11. Support marketing sponsorship and community relations activities.
12. Organize digital assets and communication files.
13. Maintain and organize publicity clips and monitor alerts.
14. Provide Social Media team with timely information.
15. Work directly with mass media to maximize exposure.
16. Maintain and update the crisis communication plan.
Qualifications
1. Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Communications, Marketing or Journalism required.
2. 2-5 years experience in a PR agency or corporate environment.
3. Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office and organizational systems.
4. Understanding of the media relations landscape.
5. Experience in writing press releases and external communications.
6. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
7. Strong media relations and networking abilities.
8. Ability to manage crises effectively.
9. Experience in event planning and execution.
10. Familiarity with social media platforms.
11. Ability to work in a high-paced, deadline-driven environment.
12. Interpersonal skills to deal effectively with contacts.
13. Ability to exercise initiative and independent judgment.
14. Professional appearance and demeanor.
15. Ability to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
16. Able to communicate effectively in English.
17. Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
18. Spanish speaker preferred.
19. Duties may be performed on the Casino Floor in a fast-paced environment.
20. This position requires frequent standing and walking.
21. Must be able to respond to visual and aural cues.
