To support and carry out the maintenance requirements at all LAL facilities as directed., Operational Duties Key Tasks
* To operate the various equipment used in the operation of services within our facilities. This will include boiler plant, ventilation plant, pool water circulation and purification plant
* To support the relevant staff to research, scope out, design and manufacture small-scale installation projects including electrical, mechanical, plumbing and joinery work
* To be a contact for contractors, ensuring safe systems of work are employed throughout the plant room areas
* To verify that work carried out by external contractors meets the specified standard and represents quality workmanship
* To carry out where appropriate both routine and non-routine maintenance of plant and equipment in line with the work orders
* To fault find, where appropriate repair where necessary, identify, define technical specifications to order equipment as necessary
* Report to the Maintenance Co-ordinator, Maintenance Technician or relevant personnel, any defects or inefficient operation of plant and equipment
* To support the maintenance of all ancillary equipment within our venues in good operational order which will include the ongoing development of an annual programme of planned maintenance services
* To assist the with undertaking repairs throughout our venues, to plant, equipment, fixtures and fittings and their immediate environs
* To carry out any tests that may be required in relation to the operation of plant and equipment including chemical analysis of water. This will include from time to time assisting external organisations to carry out tests
* To complete or assist in the completion of any records required in relation to the operation and maintenance of plant and equipment and to ensure these records are entered into Maintenance database in good time thus ensuring accurate record keeping
* To accept all deliveries of chemicals and other essential supplies, checking that deliveries are correct complying with the supplier's permit to work systems where appropriate
* To carry out all instructions with regard to the security of our facilities and plant as necessary
* To ensure that all plant areas are kept clean, tidy and well organised
* To be flexible with regard to scope, complexity and location of work
Health and Safety Key Tasks
* To comply with the requirements of the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974 and all supplementary legislation
* To contribute to the review of safe operating procedures and ensure that they are further developed and fully understood and implemented by all staff
* To ensure that, on a day to day basis, all staff enjoy a safe and healthy work environment and are issued with appropriate protective clothing
Training
* To attend regular staff training sessions, be they held in-house or externally
* To complete an extensive internal programme of training related to the post meeting competency requirements
* Maintain Pool Plant Operator Certificate
General
* To ensure you are physically fit to carry out your duties at all times
* Maintain confidentiality and observe data protection guidelines
* To carry out other reasonable duties as may be required
