Job Purpose As a Registered Nurse in our care home, you will provide high-quality nursing care to residents, ensuring their physical, emotional, and social needs are met. You will play a vital role in maintaining the health, dignity, and well-being of residents while fostering a compassionate and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities Resident Care: Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans for residents.
Administer medications and treatments in accordance with care plans and regulatory guidelines.
Monitor residents' conditions and report any significant changes to the care home manager or physician.
Provide support and comfort to residents and their families, ensuring clear communication regarding health and care needs.
Clinical Duties: Perform nursing procedures such as wound care, catheterization, and monitoring vital signs.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure the best outcomes for residents.
Keep accurate and up-to-date documentation of residents' care and medical histories.
Participate in the assessment and admission of new residents, including health evaluations.
Compliance and Safety: Ensure adherence to care home policies, procedures, and CQC/NMC standards.
Promote a culture of safety and well-being, addressing any risks promptly.
Maintain a clean and hygienic environment, adhering to infection control protocols.
Team Leadership: Provide guidance and supervision to care assistants and other staff.
Support and mentor junior staff to enhance their skills and knowledge.
Participate in staff meetings and training sessions to ensure continuous professional development.
Qualifications and Skills Essential: Registered Nurse with valid NMC registration.
Strong clinical and decision-making skills.
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Compassionate, patient, and committed to providing exceptional care.
Desirable: Previous experience in a care home or similar environment.
Knowledge of dementia care or end-of-life care practices.
