Step Teachers are seeking an experienced EBD Teacher located in Thetford commencing in February 2025. This full-time position is for 1 day initially, with potential extension based on performance and school discretion.

Your duties as an EBD Teacher:
* Plan and deliver individual and group lessons for students with emotional and behavioral difficulties.
* Create and implement personalized learning plans that support students' academic and personal development.
* Develop and maintain positive, trusting relationships with students to promote emotional regulation and behavior management.
* Use a variety of teaching strategies to meet the diverse needs of students and help them engage in learning.
* Collaborate closely with teaching assistants, SENCOs, and other staff to provide a holistic approach to each student’s development.
* Regularly assess students’ progress, provide constructive feedback, and adapt teaching methods to maximize learning potential.
* Work with external agencies (e.g., counselors, psychologists) to support students’ well-being.
* Foster a safe and supportive classroom environment, where students feel valued, respected, and encouraged to succeed.
* Maintain detailed records of student progress, behavior, and any interventions.
To be considered for this EBD Teacher position, you will:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent, with a strong background in special educational needs (SEN).
* Experience working with students who have emotional and behavioral difficulties.
* Knowledge of a range of behavior management strategies and SEN interventions.
* Strong communication, patience, and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work under pressure and handle challenging situations calmly and professionally.
* Empathy and understanding of the unique needs of students with EBD.
