Ward Sister - Windsor Dialysis Unit - Band 7
We have an exciting opportunity in Windsor Dialysis Unit, located in the heart of Royal Windsor Berkshire. We are seeking to recruit a Band 7 Ward Manager for Windsor Dialysis Unit.
The Windsor Dialysis unit is a 24-station facility providing Haemodialysis, including a consultation clinic on-site. Our established multicultural team comprises nurses, healthcare assistants, a Renal Consultant, and a registrar.
We are looking for a dynamic leader who is passionate about fostering a strong team ethos and environment, working in line with trust behaviors and values, and committed to excellence in clinical care and patient outcomes.
The senior management team welcomes applications from individuals capable of leading a team in this specialized clinical area, bringing a forward-thinking approach. Support for your development will be provided by the Lead Nurse and Matron for Integrated Medicine A.
The ideal candidate will have relevant experience in Haemodialysis and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Main duties of the job
1. Manage people and financial resources to ensure effective team operation.
2. Allocate work and assess team performance against set criteria and competencies.
3. Demonstrate excellent personal communication skills.
4. Ensure high standards of nursing care in the work area.
5. Maintain cleanliness and a well-managed ward environment.
6. Prioritize workload to meet targets.
7. Ensure practices comply with Data Protection, Confidentiality, and Caldicott principles.
8. Promote diversity, including race diversity, in service delivery and staff management.
9. Encourage interdisciplinary collaboration for optimal patient care.
10. Demonstrate experience in dialysis.
11. Work with Lead Sister/Lead Charge Nurse to uphold and improve standards of patient care through Clinical Governance.
12. Adhere to the Nursing and Midwifery Council's Code and Trust policies.
13. Foster a positive culture among practitioners.
14. Contribute to service development, staying informed of new evidence and research in the field.
