You will be responsible for igniting a passion for food and cooking in students, equipping them with valuable life skills for the future. Key Responsibilities: Curriculum Delivery: Plan, deliver, and evaluate engaging and stimulating Food Technology lessons across the curriculum, catering to Key Stage 3 (Years 7-8) and potentially Key Stage 4 (Years 9-11) in line with the National Curriculum. Utilize a variety of teaching methods to cater to diverse learning styles and ensure all students develop their culinary skills effectively (hygiene, food preparation techniques, recipe interpretation, healthy eating principles). Foster creativity and experimentation in the kitchen, encouraging students to explore different cuisines and ingredients. Student Progress: Track and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback and guidance to ensure students achieve their full potential. Utilize a variety of assessment strategies to inform teaching and learning. Learning Environment: Maintain a safe and hygienic kitchen environment, adhering to all health and safety regulations. Ensure the kitchen is well-equipped and organized for effective learning. Enrichment Activities: Contribute to and potentially lead extracurricular activities related to food (e.g., cooking clubs, healthy eating workshops, catering events). The Ideal Candidate: A qualified Food Technology teacher with a demonstrable track record of success in engaging students and developing their culinary skills. Excellent subject knowledge and a passion for inspiring a love of food and cooking in students of all abilities. Strong pedagogical skills and the ability to deliver innovative and effective lessons that cater to diverse learning styles.
