An exciting and innovative opportunity has arisen through retirement for the appointment of a Nurse Manager at our Practice in Wilmslow.
We have a multi-disciplined and stable nursing team providing excellent quality care to the population of Wilmslow and we are excited by the prospect of welcoming a suitably trained nurse manager to join our team and lead nursing services at the Practice.
The Partners recognise modern day flexible working and are happy to incorporate this role over a four-day working week.

Main duties of the job
This role will involve Nurse management, leading the nursing team, responding to changes in nursing practice and reporting to the practice manager and senior GP partner.
The Practice is offering pastoral support to the post holder by way of mentorship with a senior established ANP.
Clinical roles include, but are not limited to:
1. Assess, plan, develop, implement and evaluate programmes which promote health and well-being, and prevent adverse effects on health and well-being.
2. Assess, plan, develop, implement and evaluate individual treatment plans for patients with a known long-term condition.
3. Proactively identify, diagnose and manage treatment plans for patients at risk of developing a long-term condition as appropriate.
4. Undertake agreed procedures e.g., blood pressure, pulse rate and rhythm, temperature, height and weight body mass index, venepuncture, ear syringing, ECG, peak flow readings, cytology, travel and childhood vaccinations, interpretation of blood results via the pathology link.
5. Prioritise health problems and intervene appropriately to assist the patient in complex, urgent or emergency situations, including initiating effective emergency care.
6. Review medication for therapeutic effectiveness, appropriate to patients' needs and in accordance with evidence-based practice and national and practice protocols.
7. Lead on wound care management and participate in immunisation programmes for both adults and children.
8. Lead on nursing staff appraisals and day-to-day management of the nursing team.

Person Specification
Experience
* Interest in specialised role with a particular emphasis on Diabetes care (training can be given).
* Previous involvement in implementing and using protocols and clinical guidelines.
* Experience of audit.
* Adaptable to change in line with clinical guidance.
* Previous experience in management of long-term conditions.
* Family planning experience.
Qualifications
* Interest in specialised role with a particular emphasis on Diabetes care (training can be given).
* Family Planning course.
* Evidence of management/Leadership training.
