The calibration engineer is a key position within the on-going operations at our flagship Davidstow site. The work conducted within this role directly impacts the performance of the final product we produce. This site is where we produce the majority of our cheese as a business, along with the production of the infant formula/nutrition products. Also on the site is our large-scale water processing facility (WPF), a key contributor to us achieving and exceeding our environmental goals. The remit of this position covers both the site (production) areas and the WPF. You’ll find yourself in a dynamic environment with a focus on supporting and improving day-to-day efficiency, which will include working in a range of environments in and outdoors, confined spaces, and in all weather conditions, whilst also offering out-of-hours site support. Work shift – Monday-Friday / 8-5.30 YOU’LL MAKE CONTRIBUTIONS THAT MATTER BY… Quantifying and implementing the site engineering calibration strategy and capturing all works in the ERP. Ensuring instrumentation and calibration activities are undertaken to maximise plant availability whilst also complying with H&S regulations. Completing variable frequency drive activities across the site and WPF. Troubleshooting, fault-finding and maintaining process instrumentation whilst also improving systems to ensure operational requirements are optimised. Identifying opportunities to improve equipment safety, reliability, availability and/or performance by collaborating with engineering and operational teams to turn insights to their advantage. Accurately recording data, maintain work records, and work in line with the MSP. Communicating clearly with colleagues about on-going work and schedules. Occasionally supervising 3rd party contractors when on site (permits, audits, etc.) YOU’RE BEST SUITED FOR THE ROLE IF YOU ARE… Experienced within electrical engineering positions, with demonstratable experience with electrical maintenance, installations, and calibration equipment and methods. Someone who has completed an apprenticeship with an electrical HNC or City & Guilds equivalent. Able to demonstrate an understanding of periodic calibration requirements and process of instrumentation (level, temperature, flow, scales, pressure, pH, conductivity etc.) Experienced with variable frequency drives. Familiar with PLC, SCADA, motor control systems. A strong decision-making, problem-solving engineer with an ability to utilise analysis and communicate with others well.
