Job Title: Graduate Functional Skills Coach Department: Operations Line Manager: Operations Manager Location: Hybrid / Remote (potential travel requirements) DBS Check Required: Yes Salary: Starting salary of £23,000 General Job Description: As a Functional Skills Coach, you will join our Operations Department as a member of the Functional Skills Team. You will provide professional and quality delivery of Functional Skills English & Math (level 2), as well as keeping up to date with awarding body standards and requirements. You will work collaboratively with other teams to ensure we are doing all we can to positively enable and motivate our learners to develop and enhance their Functional Skills in order to achieve timely completion of their apprenticeship. As such, you will be required to provide guidance to other members of the team in the capacity of sharing knowledge and best practice, in line to meet the needs of our business. Role Responsibilities (include but not limited to): To deliver high quality Functional Skills delivery at level 2 in English & math to apprentices undertaking level 3 & 4 apprenticeships via online delivery To deliver the above in accordance with awarding body standards To be able to manage learner progress and development through a variation of 121 and group sessions using online delivery To meet internally set deadlines for exam requirements and internal quality assurance checks To mark work, set and mark mock exams and upload work to required systems in line with internal processes and procedures To keep and maintain accurate records of assessment in accordance with service and awarding body requirements To manage the effective use of revision applications and methods to enable the apprentices to succeed To invigilate exams in accordance with awarding body requirements in our named exam locations To undertake all aspects of the post in accordance with the companies Equal Opportunities policy Promote and demonstrate Baltic values and behaviours in all aspects of your job role Adhere to regular learner contact to ensure your learners are progressing in line with agreed milestones Maintain accurate data management records and documentation, ensuring delivery and paperwork is compliant at all times Essential skills and experience: Hold a recognised teaching qualification or equivalent Excellent written and verbal communication skills Excellent organisational skills with great attention to detail Flexible, adaptable and able to work well under pressure Strong IT skills – including proficiency in the use of IT systems such as Microsoft Office programs Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships, rapport and develop understanding of every learner Be able to confidently challenge learners and provide constructive, developmental feedback Thorough and logical approach to problem solving Determination to see problems and solutions through to the end Desirable skills and experience: Experience of Apprenticeship Standards Experience of teaching in an online environment Specific knowledge of the Apprenticeship Sector and awareness of current themes
