The Position
Join a growing and dynamic multi-disciplinary property and construction
consultancy as a Senior Mechanical Engineer
The role will provide Engineering support to the Practice by providing expertise in
the field of mechanical building services engineering in the built environment to
be included in design and project management.

The selected candidate will…
Work with the Engineering Associate/Director on a regular basis, reporting
weekly on progress.
Ensure all projects are completed to a high technical standard, on time, and budget.
Assist more junior staff with technical queries as appropriate to your knowledge and experience.
Carry out fee-earning work, getting involved in the design of schemes where
appropriate and particularly where high-level technical expertise is required.
Undertake feasibility studies as required.
Meet with clients to establish project briefs and budget costs for client consideration.
Draw up detailed specifications and drawings against client’s briefs.
Review tenders received and prepare tender reports and recommendations.
Project manage site works from commencement to completion.
Monitor site works against specification requirements and agree on the contractor’s final accounts.
Carry out inspections of existing installations and submit condition reports.
Check and prepare information for fee Invoicing each month.
Manage day to day workload of individuals reporting directly to you, ensuring clarity of their roles, motivation of the team, and well-being of individuals.
Advise director and partners on resources required, assisting at the interview stage.
Develop the client base of the Practice by being proactive in pursuing marketing opportunities that arise and pursuing marketing initiatives as directed.
Prepare and/or contribute toward fee bids relevant to M+E-related projects.
Essential skills, experience, and attributes
Use of MEPWorx / IES (Mechanical) software.
Use of AutoCAD and Revit.
Familiar with relevant legislation, codes of practice, CIBSE guides, building regulations, and best practices and environmentally sensitive.
Degree/Master’s degree in Engineering.
Member of the Chartered Institute of Building Services Engineers and/or
The IET (or equivalents).
Chartered Engineer status or approaching.
Full driving license and access to a vehicle.
Experience in managing successful M&E teams.
