Summary In the role of Production Manager, you will be expected to lead your direct reports in the day-to-day operations of The Oxford Healthy Company’s manufacturing/production facilities, ensuring all operations feed effectively into the production lines and out to dispatch in order to meet our clients expected lead times and quality, with an additional focus on delivering low wastage for the required profit margins to the business. What will you do? As our new Production Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring efficient processes, maintaining high-quality standards, meeting organisational goals and leading/mentoring a team. Your key responsibilities will include: 1. Production Planning and Scheduling • Develop and oversee daily, weekly, and fortnightly schedules to meet demand forecasts. • Allocate resources effectively, ensuring optimal utilisation of manpower, machinery, and materials. 2. Team Leadership and Supervision • Lead and manage a team of production staff, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations. • Foster a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement. Establish and maintain individual progression plans for your team. 3. Process Optimization and Efficiency • Identify areas for process improvement and implement strategies to reduce waste, downtime, and costs. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement lean manufacturing practices. 4. Quality Assurance and Compliance • Ensure that all products meet the company’s quality standards and comply with industry regulations. • Investigate and resolve production quality issues with the Quality team, implementing (CAPA) corrective actions as necessary. 5. Inventory and Supply Chain Coordination • Monitor raw material inventory and liaise with procurement to avoid disruptions. • Coordinate with logistics and warehousing teams to streamline the supply chain. 6. Safety and Maintenance Oversight • Enforce strict adherence to health and safety standards across the production floor. • Schedule and oversee routine maintenance to minimise equipment downtime. 7. Data Analysis and Reporting • Track and analyse production metrics, preparing regular reports for senior management. • Use insights from data to drive operational improvements and achieve KPIs. 8. Stakeholder Collaboration • Work closely with the Directors, the Warehouse management team, Account Managers and sales teams to align production capabilities with market demands. • Participate in strategic planning meetings to forecast future production needs. What We’re Looking For • Minimum of 5 years experience in production management, preferably in the FMCG sector. • Solid understanding of manufacturing processes, lean production techniques, and supply chain principles. • Proven track record of meeting production targets and driving efficiency improvements. • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage diverse teams. • Collaborative mindset to work effectively across departments and with external stakeholders. • Deep commitment to maintaining high-quality standards and adherence to industry regulations. • Familiarity with health and safety protocols and a proactive approach to enforcing them.
