Job Overview
TE Connectivity's Facilities Team conducts facilities and property administration, office planning, corporate leasing, and/or real estate coordination. They work closely and provide advice and counsel to company and/or vendor representatives coordinating major facility constructions or modifications or leasing and real estate activities.
Lead and carry out a wide range of assignments to maintain & improve the efficiency, quality, safety, and performance of the site facilities, including the onsite facility maintenance and management of external contractor safety & services. Create supporting facilities safety documentation, reporting, and provide training to ensure safe and successful facility implementations.
Providing day-to-day facilities & safety site support for the teammates, checking and planning maintenance programs, contractor management, environment cost savings, safety improvements, and supporting the site with any required pick up/local deliveries of site components, stocks, or sundries.
Assist with safety and environmental improvements on site whilst providing technical support in troubleshooting facility problems. Provide timely and efficient solutions for all areas of the site.
Tasks Summary and Responsibilities:
1. Main responsibility is the planning, management & reporting of all site facilities maintenance, property inventory, and security supporting local safety compliance and regulations.
2. Ability to create efficient and effective facilities programs for the company plant. Use this knowledge to define the parameters and processes for other facilities programs/improvements to follow and provide the appropriate checks and safety considerations on their work to maintain high standards.
3. Provide advice and training to the site for any impacted improvements/initiatives and proposals.
4. Review and monitor contractor services and plan an external maintenance plan to support the in-house facilities management and services. Including the management of documentation for such (i.e., Risk assessments, Certification checks, High Risk Task reviews, Pre-job planning, providing defined document management and equipment management procedures).
5. Use facilities expertise to define, document, and provide safe practices, ensuring cost-effective, repeatable, and high-quality practices are used.
6. Become a member of the safety committee and work with production areas to achieve their KPI’s by attending daily meetings and providing any facilities support to overcome challenges as they arise.
7. Support stores & dispatch team areas to achieve their KPI’s by attending meetings and providing any facilities support to overcome component or delivery challenges as they arise.
8. Enable the smooth integration of new infrastructure changes, project managing activities with external and internal teammates/contractors.
9. Ensure facilities costs are captured and calculated correctly by maintaining the integrity of costed times and budget management.
10. Investigate and initiate methods of environmental improvement and cost-saving projects for the site.
11. Work with the Safety & Environmental teammates to deliver any facilities works.
12. Help roll out TE Operating Advantage (TEOA) requirements, roll out Centers of Excellence (COE) and utilize Best Demonstrated Practices (BDP’s).
13. Keep the site well-informed of technical developments and review any facilities operating methods.
14. Observe and comply with Health and Safety regulations as laid down in company procedures and Government legislation.
15. Carry out any other reasonable tasks as directed by the business from time to time.
Knowledge & Skills:
Education: City & Guilds, HNC or linked Safety IOSH, Engineering, Facilities, Maintenance Engineering
Experience:
1. Maintenance & Safety Management of a manufacturing facility.
2. Good practical knowledge of using hand tools, maintenance processes, and associated skills.
3. Good IT management skills and reporting.
Essential Knowledge & Skills:
1. Compliance Safety standards for a manufacturing facility.
2. The ability to troubleshoot facility problems & resolve.
3. Computer literate using Microsoft 365 software.
4. Previous experience maintaining factory safety & facilities (electrical, plumbing, fixtures, fittings, etc).
5. Experience in ensuring quality contractor management with documented procedures, plans, and communications with landlord and TE in a timely manner.
6. Identifies and recommends new or improved facilities processes and technical developments for safe working or environmental benefits.
7. Ability to use own initiative to ‘troubleshoot’ problems in areas as they arise.
8. Continuous improvement of facilities infrastructure, buildings, decoration, services, and supplies to a standard work.
9. Drive and passion to deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
10. Ability to work on own initiative and be creative.
11. Clean full driving license.
Desirable Knowledge & Skills:
1. Experience with SAP or Sage system.
2. Project management skills when delivering facility projects.
3. Environmental and Health and Safety principles used in UK factories.
