Join us as a Management Accountant We have an opportunity for an experienced Management Accountant to join our Accounting & Shared Services Team based out of our Addlestone Office in Surrey. The key focus of the role is the preparation of monthly management accounts; including profit and loss statements, balance sheets and cashflow statements; including the oversight of accounts payable obligations for Schindler UK&I.These activities must be executed in alignment with the local legislation and the Schindler Group guidelines, to fulfil the required management accounting obligations to internal and external stakeholders. As a member of the Accounting & Shared Services function, the ideal candidate comes with a good grasp of management accounting knowledge; and is a key business contact for management & transactional reporting needs. While this role focuses on management accounting matters, the individual will also provide coverage for absent team members (financial accounting and treasury; and vice versa). You will get the opportunity to work with a great bunch of people and get supported in your development Duties & Responsibilities: Calculate and maintain monthly accruals and prepayments Prepare and post journals as appropriate and ensure appropriate pre-approvals with back-ups are maintained Cost allocation for (but not limited to) Fleet, Fuel, Phone, Travel, Medical Insurance, etc Preparation of monthly Structural Costs (overheads, “Struco”) transaction report, understanding of actual results and providing commentary Credit card processing, chasing/preparing journals for postings Calculation and raising invoices for intercompany recharges (global cost, salary, expenses), including backup details, and dealing with queries with trading partners Raise Fixed Asset numbers Reconcile plan on lease information and intercompany accounts and resolve differences between partners Perform balance sheet accounts reconciliations for designated area of responsibility Maintain robust processes and controls to facilitate P&L integrity. (e.g., Work with various teams to ensure gl’s are appropriately used) Accounts Payable Support & Oversight Readsoft - clearing workflow on daily basis, advise on cost allocations Liaising with AP team to ensure all entries were posted correctly during the month Reconciling suppliers accounts Chasing suppliers for VAT invoices (proforma) Payment Runs (in collaboration with FSS) and Payment Approvals Reporting & Statutory Obligations Tagetik Reporting and data inputs as required; for e.g Intercompany Preparation and support for quarterly, half-yearly and annual reporting IFRS16 (long term leases) – provide updates to CoE to maintain planon portal on monthly basis Monthly provision of required data to TFL Contract for billing back-ups and audit support as required Audit & Adhoc Provide support during statutory and internal audits Ensure consistent documentation of all tasks and activities according to internal policies Continuously review and improve finance processes and controls Support Head of Accounting with proper alignment with timely and accurate reporting to Global Schindler stakeholders Treasury Officer cover for critical items, such as (but not limited to) FX clearing, hedging, cash allocations, payments, Dispositions Financial Accountant cover for critical items, such as (but not limited to) VAT returns, expenses payments, National Statistics Candidate Requirements: Prior experience of management accounting is essential At least 3 years experience in a Finance environment AAT qualification, and progress to ACCA (or similar qualification) is of advantage Strong management accounting, management reporting experience and solid accounting fundamentals Strong organization, excellent time management, planning and analytical skills, with a strong attention to detail Clear communication skills for both internal and external interactions Ability to multitask and work to tight deadlines Can work independently as well as part of a team Ability to review current process and think creatively to suggest and drive improvement and automation. Enjoy working with people across finance and non-finance teams and be comfortable working in multiple accounting systems, and with a good work ethic Confidence to communicate with all levels within the business and external parties Determination and flexibility to ensure all deadlines are me Proficient use of Excel.
