The Opportunity Key Internal Relationships: Real Estate Partners and Associates Role: As a paralegal in this role you will provide full administrative support to a team of partners and associates working on the department's largest clients. Support for high value complex sales and real estate transactions and general relationship management assistance for a key real estate client. You will be an integral member of the team working closely with the associates and partner for each transaction. Our award winning international real estate practice has a reputation for executing the largest and most complex real estate deals with accuracy and at speed. We provide advice on all aspects of general commercial property including investment, restructuring, development, acquisitions, disposals, corporate occupiers, PPP, corporate support work and real estate finance. The group also has first-class standalone planning, dispute resolution and construction practices. Key Performance Indicators: Positive feedback from members of the Real Estate team and other HSF fee-earners and staff. Key Responsibilities: The coordination of vendor due diligence and management of the pre-sale checklists Setting up and ongoing management / maintenance of datarooms Analysing and collation of documentation to be uploaded to each dataroom including review for consistency, accuracy and general requirements for sale preparation Liaising with search agencies and obtaining search results Obtaining EPCs Obtaining official copies and title documents from the Land Registry and other general Land Registry tasks Verification of tenancy schedules Managing third party access to datarooms Preparation of template draft transactional documents Coordination of reliance letter and warranty procurement and the execution process Preparation of engrossments and coordination of exchange and completion processes Project management including managing diaries / agendas for project conference calls and keeping team updated on project milestones Coordinating input from associates to client reports Coordinating replies to buyer Q&A Setting up and managing DocuSign envelopes Attending to post completion matters including assistance with SDLT returns and Land Registry applications Maintaining deeds, scheduling, archiving and updating records Qualifications, skills and experience: Law degree or other undergraduate degree (ideally 2.1 or first class honours) Exposure to Real Estate law, through degree / LPC / SQE or previous employment Previous paralegal work (or similar) within the Real Estate sector, ideally in a large law firm Experience creating and managing datarooms or large-scale transactions Experience ordering standard searches and dealing with Land Registry processes Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications Team Real Estate Working Pattern Full time Location London Contract type Fixed Term Contract Diversity & Inclusion At Herbert Smith Freehills you will be part of a diverse, innovative culture where high performance, client focus and highly engaged people are our differentiator.
