Here’s more about the role and what we’re looking for: We're looking for an experienced Software Engineer to join our Learning Technology Team. As a Software Engineer you will undertake and contribute to in-house software development, system documentation, user support, business analysis, and project administration tasks, related to the University’s suite of learning technology tools. You will also have experience of working in the Higher Education (HE) sector. Our IT Services department is made up of a wide range of teams all responsible for their own specialism. As a key member of our Learning Technology team, you’ll support our mission to improve the student experience at Loughborough University by: Developing and maintaining our open source virtual learning environment (VLE) based on Moodle. Creating new learning technology tools to support academic and professional services colleagues in delivering a world class learning experience for our students. Key Requirements: You’ll have a track record of developing web applications, using PHP and MySQL or complementary technologies. You’ll bring your expertise in agile software development, preferably as part of a team using a product management approach. Ability to work to tight deadlines and on multiple projects simultaneously. Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Have a degree in a related subject or equivalent experience.
