This full-time position focuses on delivering engaging and meaningful lessons to Key Stage 3 and 4 students who have experienced challenges in mainstream education. Key Responsibilities Deliver Inspiring Lessons: Plan and teach engaging Health and Social Care lessons, tailoring content to meet the diverse needs and abilities of students. Adapt Teaching Approaches: Use flexible teaching strategies to address students' social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs. Person Specification The ideal candidate will: Be empathetic, resilient, and passionate about working with students who have additional needs. Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build strong connections with students, staff, and families. Bring creativity and adaptability to their teaching methods, recognizing the unique needs of each student. Demonstrate experience in alternative provisions or working with students who have struggled in mainstream settings (preferred). Show patience and calmness when managing challenging behaviour, employing effective strategies to maintain a positive classroom environment. Be committed to supporting students both academically and personally, enabling them to overcome barriers and achieve success. Qualifications and Experience Previous experience teaching Health and Social Care or a similar subject at the secondary level. Knowledge of SEMH needs and effective strategies to support students facing these challenges is highly desirable.
