What does a Plant Director do?
As a Plant Director, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the plant’s operations. This includes managing production, safety, quality control, maintenance, purchasing, and logistics. You’ll lead the plant's daily operations, ensuring efficient production processes, compliance with legal requirements, and workplace safety. You will be key in recruiting, hiring, and training personnel, as well as maintaining and improving the facility’s physical infrastructure. Moreover, you will take charge of annual budget planning and execution, working closely with the production team to boost productivity and profitability.
Your role also involves collaborating with various departments, such as Environmental Health and Safety, Supply Chain, and quality control, to ensure the smooth operation of the plant and alignment with corporate goals. You will optimize resources, drive lean projects (LSS certification required), and develop best practices to improve KPIs and output quality. In short, you will be the key driver in ensuring that the plant operates efficiently, safely, and profitably.
