The Role
As a Retail Fit-out Property Manager, your primary role involves managing the entire process of shop fitting of new stores from inception to store openings throughout the UK. This involves coordinating site surveys, procuring competitive tenders, overseeing capital budgets, to finally ensure a flawless store presentation.
This responsibility aligns with the company’s store opening program.
Key responsibilities of the Retail Fit-out Property Manager role:
1. Conduct site visits to assess potential challenges for new store openings and to set up capital budgets.
2. Collaborate with architects, agents, acquisition surveyors, and retail counterparts to finalize the ideal store layout, finishes, and any required preparatory works.
3. Manage the tender process for shop fitting works in compliance with company policies and secure competitive pricing for projects.
4. Establish a dependable and capable pool of qualified contractors.
5. Provide instructions to the chosen contractor and oversee the shop-fitting process to ensure the store opens according to agreed cost, specifications, and timeline.
6. Supervise the resolution of any post-store-opening snagging items promptly and efficiently.
7. Participate in meetings with colleagues to provide updates on the progress of the new store opening program.
8. Oversee the Retail calendar, project managing new store openings and fit-outs through to final delivery.
9. Ensure projects are completed within budget constraints.
To be successful in this Retail Fit-out Property Manager role you should:
1. Possess 4-5 years of experience in project management for new store openings and fit-outs.
2. Have proven experience in successfully managing new store openings within retail, hospitality, or leisure.
3. Be willing to travel nationwide, attending Head Office on a weekly or fortnightly basis (amount of travel would depend on projects). Overnight stays are expected.
4. Exhibit excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with individuals at all levels, both internally and externally.
5. Possess strong attention to detail and organizational skills to effectively manage multiple projects.
