Are you an experienced Engineer looking for a new challenge? Lincolnshire County Council has a challenging yet rewarding position available for a Senior Engineer to join our established teams that design and manage assets for Lincolnshire's Highway Authority.
In LCC's Technical Services Partnership (TSP) we combine public and private sector know-how to provide technical and specialist highway-related engineering expertise.
The Structures team at TSP are responsible for the inspection and maintenance of over 4000 structures including Bridges, culverts, footbridges retaining walls. The team are also responsible for other duties including routing abnormal loads, submersible pumps, dealing with utility companies and also safety barriers within the County. So the workload can be varied to broaden your experience.
You will have several years' experience in bridges or structures with a structural engineering background, having gained your IEng or CEng or have equivalent experience.
We are looking for enthusiastic, innovative and effective individuals, with proven ability in the design and supervision of highway-related works. You will be ready to take on responsibility for technical, professional and personal development of the people in the team.
On joining the team, you will be well supported, but you will be able to find your feet quickly and deliver a range of schemes from feasibility through supervision on site, focussing on meeting clients' briefs and ensuring the team's work is delivered within time and budget. Experience in mentoring junior staff members would be a valuable asset.
You will work closely with a Principal Engineer, assisting them in leading the team, taking responsibility for delivery of your own schemes and an overview of others. With effective communication skills, you will also demonstrate effective behaviours in the way you work with colleagues and clients. You will have a full driver's licence so you can use our pool cars.
We operate a hybrid working model that includes time in our offices at Lancaster House as well as time on-site. There is an expectation for you to be in the office at least two days a week, with additional office presence required based on the needs of the service.
