We are recruiting for a Consultant Nurse-Urgent Treatment Centre who shares our vision to be trusted to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our patients.
The post holder will work across the UEC, Emergency department (ED)and Urgent Treatment Centre (UTC), Assessment Areas and SDEC service) within ENHT maintaining a high level of clinical presence and providing highly specialised professional advice, consultancy, clinical expertise and leadership to patients, carers and Trust staff.
The successful candidate will demonstrate advanced skills and competencies to directly influence the delivery of programmes of care across the full range of UEC. A significant element of the role will be developing advanced practice and ensuring robust clinical governance frameworks for autonomous practice within UEC services.
The post holder will initiate research in the field of UEC to ensure that evidence-based practice is inherent in all aspects of service delivery. They will maintain clinical excellence through the dissemination of knowledge across the Trust, partnership groups/organisations and externally as appropriate. The post holder will liaise with partner Universities and Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) and will contribute to joint projects relevant to autonomous practice in this field.

Main duties of the job
The Consultant Nurse will demonstrate advanced knowledge and expertise in practice functions including clinical history taking, physical assessment and investigation interpretation relevant to role.
Demonstrate advanced knowledge and expertise in clinical decision-making skills in referring patients for further tests, investigations and interpreting results.
Work with the ENPs ANP, ACP, Matron/s and the management team to provide clinical governance leadership for advanced practice to provide assurance that the service meets national guidelines and standards of performance; use audit and evaluation of services to provide evidence base for the redesign and transformation of services.
Be an innovator, capable of pioneering new approaches to enhance practice.
Be a positive role model, demonstrating high quality, person-centred as a change agent, challenging existing practice to improve quality of care.
Work as an autonomous practitioner maintaining an identified caseload pertinent to service needs and priorities.
Use highly developed specialist knowledge, underpinned by theory (at master's level) and experience, in day-to-day clinical practice.

1. Registered Nurse (Active Registration)
2. Masters in advanced clinical Practice, or able to provide evidence that already operating at that level of practice in line with the Framework for Advanced Nursing, Midwifery and Allied Health Professional in UK
3. Registered with the NMC as a Non- Medical Prescriber or currently working towards
4. Diploma in the Autonomous Management of Minor Injuries/illness /equivalent autonomous practice course relating to minor injury/illness or advance practice
5. Teaching/assessing qualification
