A fantastic opportunity has arisen for the role of Lead Practitioner of English to improve student outcomes and engagement by ensuring the quality of teaching and learning is of a strong standard in the English Department. Mayflower High School is an inclusive secondary school with a very successful Sixth Form centre on site with over 300 Sixth Form students. The successful candidate should have:
1. The ability to inspire and enthuse students
2. High expectations of students in terms of learning, achievement and behaviour
3. The ability to take the lead role in developing, implementing and evaluating policies and practices that lead to school improvement
4. The ability to lead structured monitoring and evaluation of all aspects of teaching and learning through lesson observations, feedback to teaching staff and work sampling
5. Accredited Lead Practitioner status or the desire to work towards Accredited Lead Practitioner status
