Our North East Site boasts a state-of-the-art production facility situated in Newton Aycliffe, County Durham, spanning 40,000 square feet, equipped with specialised workshop bays dedicated to assembly, engine work, manufacturing, painting, and bodywork.
Overview of the Role: We are recruiting exclusively for a Stores Coordinator for a leading automotive company with stunning build workshops based in Newton Aycliffe and Darlington. Our client is experiencing a period of rapid growth having secured a long-term contract for exciting new bespoke hand-built vehicles to widen their existing product range. This role will suit a highly desirable car enthusiast, working for a company of fellow enthusiasts.
Responsibilities:
1. Manage and follow the quality, health, safety, and welfare policies of the company.
2. Control of goods in/out, record keeping of goods movements.
3. Raising purchase orders and liaising with central accounts on payments and deliveries.
4. Co-ordinate deliveries of parts and materials between Newton Aycliffe and Darlington Sites.
5. Processing and picking orders and replenishing stock in the general stores and engineering shop.
6. Arranging deliveries/returns.
7. Liaising with colleagues/suppliers by telephone and email to ensure required parts are available when needed by the production team.
8. Contributing to stock take of parts, in-house fabricated components and raw materials.
9. General procurement, researching, sourcing, and ordering parts at best value.
10. Driving the company vehicle between sites or to/from suppliers.
11. Signing for and verifying delivery quantities.
12. Stock distribution to specific locations in production areas.
13. Monitoring stock levels and reporting delivery shortages to the management team.
Essential Skills:
1. Previous experience working within a complex stores area within the automotive production industry.
2. A good working knowledge of car components and technology.
3. Previous experience of working as part of a team in a quality led environment.
4. Confident IT skills – Use of Microsoft Teams and Office (i.e., Outlook, Excel spreadsheets).
5. Excellent accuracy and a detail-oriented approach to work.
6. A reliable and dependable approach to each working day.
7. Full clean driving licence.
Desirable Skills:
1. Experience of working within a low volume assembly production line environment on bespoke vehicles.
2. Previous use of DMS type company/stock/supplier management software.
3. A knowledge of fabrication and materials used for fabrication of metal components.
4. A knowledge of materials used in the paint and body process.
5. Forklift truck licence (not essential, training provided if required).
6. An interest in/experience of classic cars, engineering and mechanics, and an enthusiasm for specialist/performance vehicles.
