This role offers the opportunity to work on complex R&D instrumentation in a regulated ISO 13485 environment, contributing directly to groundbreaking advancements in the life sciences.\n\nAbout the Role\n\nAs a Senior Engineering Technician, you'll play a vital role in building, deploying, and maintaining advanced R&D instrumentation incorporating fluidics, actuators, pumps, and sensors.
You'll collaborate with scientists and engineers, troubleshooting, enhancing performance, and ensuring rigorous quality standards.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nIndependently plan and manage engineering projects, contributing technical expertise at the onset of initiatives.\nBuild, troubleshoot, and deploy sophisticated instrumentation, including microfluidics, temperature control, pneumatics, pumps, and sensors.\nProactively improve the reliability and performance of R&D devices through maintenance and fault-tracking strategies.\nAssemble and prototype components using mechanical workshop tools and techniques such as laser cutting, 3D printing, and CNC milling.\nInterface with software systems controlling R&D devices.\nMaintain parts inventory, ensuring efficient procurement and stock management.\nDraft and maintain documentation such as SOPs, work instructions, and engineering reports within a regulated environment.\nPerform repetitive tasks with precision and minimal supervision.\n\nQualifications & Skills\n\nEssential:\n\nDegree in Engineering (e.g., Mechanical or Electrical) or a BTech in Engineering.\nExtensive experience as an Engineering Technician in the medical device, IVD, or similar regulated industry.\nProficient in assembling and maintaining R&D devices, rigs, and fixtures.\nExpertise in preventive maintenance and fault-tracking analysis.\nSkilled in prototyping techniques and tools, including laser cutting, 3D printing, and CNC milling.\nProficient in soldering and wiring electrical components and sensors.\nBasic CAD skills (SolidWorks) and familiarity with industry-standard fault-tracking tools.\nStrong attention to detail, self-motivation, and ability to work independently.\nKnowledge of Health and Safety at Work legislation.\nProficiency in drafting technical documentation and using Microsoft Office applications.Desirable:\n\nFamiliarity with electrical circuit design.\n\nWhy Join?\n\nBe part of a dynamic team pushing the boundaries of DNA sequencing technology.\nWork in a supportive, innovative environment committed to quality and collaboration.\nContribute to impactful projects that advance scientific discovery and healthcare solutions.Ready to take the next step in your career?
