Do you have a caring and supportive nature? We are looking for a Teaching Assistant to join our dedicated team in a special educational needs (SEN) school in Southampton.\n\nThis is an exciting opportunity to support students with a variety of additional needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), learning disabilities, and social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) challenges.
You will work alongside teachers and other support staff to provide the best learning environment for all students.\n\nAbout the Role:\n\nProvide 1:1 or small group support for students with SEN across the school.\n\nAssist with classroom activities and help implement individual learning plans (IEPs).\n\nSupport students with personal care when required, ensuring their dignity and safety.\n\nEncourage and promote positive behaviour management strategies.\n\nAssist in developing students' social and communication skills.\n\nSupport students with practical tasks, helping them engage with the curriculum.\n\nAbout You:\n\nExperience working with children with SEN, either in a school or other care environment (desirable but not essential).\n\nA patient, empathetic, and flexible approach to working with children with additional needs.\n\nStrong communication skills to work with students, teachers, and parents.\n\nA team player who is enthusiastic about supporting students to reach their full potential.\n\nA willingness to undergo further training to support students with specific needs.\n\nWe Offer:\n\nA welcoming and supportive school environment with a dedicated team.\n\nOpportunities for ongoing professional development and training in SEN.\n\nA chance to make a real, positive impact on students' lives.\n\nSmall class sizes and a focus on individualized support.\n\nA rewarding and fulfilling role in education.\n\nAll applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role.
