Position: SEMH Teaching Assistant Location: Chatham, Kent Start Date: ASAP Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent About the Role: As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will provide crucial support to students with social, emotional, and mental health needs. Working closely with teaching staff and specialists, your role will involve: Supporting students with their learning, behaviour, and social development. Providing tailored interventions for students with SEMH needs, ensuring their emotional well-being is nurtured. Helping to create a positive and inclusive classroom environment. Assisting with the implementation of individual learning plans and behaviour management strategies. Building strong, supportive relationships with students, encouraging confidence and independence. About You: To be successful in this role, you should have: Experience working with children or young people, particularly those with SEMH or additional needs. A compassionate and patient approach, with the ability to build trust and rapport with students. Strong communication and behaviour management skills. A commitment to supporting the emotional and educational development of every student.
