Applications are invited for a Clinical Research Fellow (ST6+/Senior) in Oncology (Gynaecologic Medical Oncology) with Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. This post is available to commence ASAP for 12 months in the first instance.
This is an exciting opportunity for a Physician with Oncology experience wishing to extend and deepen knowledge of Gynae Medical Oncology and clinical trials. Extensive experience will be gained in trial design and the management of phase I to III clinical trials, and in the facilitation of translational research at the Cancer Research UK Cambridge Institute. We run a diverse trials portfolio spanning the entire range of systemic treatment options (cytotoxic chemotherapy, targeted, biological and immunotherapy agents and viral based cancer therapies).
Main duties of the job
The post is set up to support both research and clinical duties. In order to maintain clinical experience, the post holder will be expected to attend outpatient clinics, sub-specialty meetings, and ward rounds as well as support delivery of care to patients receiving treatment in clinical trials.
This post is suitable for Trainees after specialist Oncology training (or equivalent) with PhD (or equivalent). This post would ideally suit applicants who have CCT in Clinical or Medical Oncology specialist training with evidence of participation in clinical or translational research and post-graduate research degree (PhD or equivalent).
Please note that this post does not carry Postgraduate Dean’s approval or training recognition. Full Registration and a Licence to Practice with the General Medical Council at point of application is required.
