The successful applicant for the role of Head of Department, Geography, will be passionate about Geography education and have the drive and ambition to lead a department that inspires and excites a future generation of students to share a love of their subject. The successful applicant will be equally committed to sharing their expertise and experience with members of their department and investing in the progress of the staff in the Geography Department and Humanities Learning Area. They will be well organised, energetic and willing to go the ‘extra mile’ for our students. They will have a proven track record of successful teaching across different key stages and believe that all students will succeed in their study of Geography. We are looking for a leader of Geography with the vision, grit, and academic acumen to support and develop the Learning Area’s success.

Mossbourne Fobbing Academy is an 11-18 years academy with a rich history of excellence in academic, artistic and sporting endeavours. Located in Corringham, Essex, the academy is rapidly improving after a period of underperformance. Its dynamic leaders and teachers are transforming the academy with high expectations and a calm learning environment, fast re-establishing its reputation for excellence. Students benefit from specialisms in the arts alongside a rigorous, challenging academic curriculum from Key Stage 3 through to Key Stage 5.
