This is an exciting opportunity for an Arts/CAPT or Play Therapist Band 8a to join our generic CAMHS team based at Highmore, Hailsham.
We are looking for an experienced Therapist with either Arts or CAPT training (with appropriate registration to practice in NHS Child Mental Health services) to take a prominent role in the development of our local service provision as well as the arts and play therapy provision within the Trust in the delivery of high quality care to children and adolescents with mental health difficulties.
We are a multi-disciplinary team which includes psychiatry, nursing, family systemic therapies, psychology, CAPT and arts therapies as well as a supportive Management and Administration Team.
The building provides clinical rooms for direct work and includes a dedicated arts therapies room. Flexible and hybrid working is considered but clinicians are expected to undertake therapy face to face.
You will be joining a highly innovative and supportive team of therapists which include CAPT, drama, art, play and music therapists across East Sussex and connections within wider Sussex. You will also be supported in your career development within the Trust in terms of developing Leadership skills and attending relevant courses as well as CPD.
Main duties of the job
1. Leading on projects as discussed with CAPT and Arts Therapy Leads.
2. Contributing to the Strategic development of the Arts Therapy Service Provision.
3. Contributing to the development of the Stepped Care Model.
4. Undertaking Leadership tasks in partnership with the Arts Therapy Lead.
5. Contribute to the development of Arts Therapies groupwork within the Trust.
6. Attend regular MDT meetings and other relevant leadership meetings as requested.
7. Drawing up complex assessment and treatment Care Plans and Risk Assessments.
8. Undertaking direct clinical work with complex cases.
9. Providing Clinical and Professional supervision and Reflective Practice for relevant staff.
10. Providing placement for trainees.
11. Developing Diversity thinking and action with Minoritised communities.
12. Maintaining and promoting Experts By Experience (EBE) involvement in all levels of service delivery.
13. Contributing to Care Pathway development.

We are looking for an experienced Therapist with an Arts, Play or CAPT professional qualification and with the necessary professional registration, such as PSA, HCPC or ACP (with appropriate registration to practice in NHS Child Mental Health services) to take a prominent role in the development of our local service provision as well as the arts and play therapy provision within the Trust in the delivery of high quality care to children and adolescents with mental health difficulties.

Person Specification
Qualifications
Essential
* A minimum two-year post-graduate (or equivalent) qualification in Art Therapy, Play Therapy, Dramatherapy or Music Therapy
* Registration with the Health and Care Professionals Council (HCPC) as an arts therapist. Or with the appropriate register of Play Therapists (see BAPT or PTUK websites for details)
* Evidence of relevant continuing professional development
* Evidence of post qualification training in clinical supervision
Experience
Essential
* Substantial experience post qualification in care group including experience of individual and group arts or play therapy with people with complex needs.
* Experience of planning and delivering teaching on arts or play therapy practice
Desirable
* Experience of supervising others
* Experience of working with arts and health practitioners/volunteers or in an art setting
