JOB DESCRIPTION AND ROLE – COOK
Main Duties
1. To prepare, cook and serve dinner daily.
2. To prepare tea, if required.
3. To ensure all paperwork is up to date to meet food hygiene requirements.
4. Supervise children during meal times.
5. Ensure the named SENCO within the nursery is aware of any concerns you may have, and work together to ensure the child’s needs are met.
6. Ensure that equipment is safe, standards of hygiene are met and safety procedures are implemented.
7. Complete visual daily checks and note any problems on the checklist; raise concerns with nursery owners or manager.
8. Promote health & safety for all children to include hand washing following outside play, messy play, and toileting and before mealtimes.
9. Adhere to Health and Safety policies, manage risk and ensure that any remedial action is taken immediately.
10. Ensure all areas of cleaning are completed and the equipment is stored appropriately each day.
11. To prepare snacks and clean the kitchen after snack/lunch time including washing and drying up of dishes.
12. Attend and contribute to fortnightly staff meetings.
13. To undertake any other duties as reasonably requested by management.
14. To work as an effective team member within all areas of the nursery.
Successful Candidate Must Have:
* Hold a level 2 in Food Hygiene.
* At least 2 years experience of working in a kitchen.
* Good organisational skills.
* Position is subject to a clear DBS.
Hours
Mon-Fri 8.30am - 1pm (must be flexible with finish time to meet the needs of the setting).
Would consider term time only for the right candidate.
Job Types: Part-time, Contract, Permanent
Pay: From £11.55 per hour
Expected Hours: 27.5 per week
