If so, we want you to join our dedicated team at an excellent Client Secondary School in York, North Yorkshire, as an Advanced Teaching Assistant starting as soon as possible.
Responsibilities:
* Assist in delivering interventions and activities to support students' reading, writing, and comprehension skills.
* Provide one-on-one or small group support to students who need additional help.
* Work alongside teachers in the classroom to support instruction, manage resources, and support students during lessons.
* Prepare and organise materials and resources for lessons and interventions.
* Supervise students during activities, ensuring their safety and wellbeing.
* Contribute to the overall school community through active participation.
Requirements:
* Relevant qualifications, such as a Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent.
* Proven experience working as a Teaching Assistant, preferably in a secondary school setting.
* Strong understanding of effective teaching methods and intervention strategies.
* Strong organisational skills to manage resources, plan interventions, and maintain accurate records.
* Ability to adapt and work collaboratively in a dynamic educational environment.
* Knowledge of behaviour management techniques and strategies for supporting students with SEN.
* Hold an Enhanced DBS registered with the update service or be willing to apply for a new one.
This role requires a strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection. Successful applicants must pass all background safer recruitment checks, including an enhanced DBS on the update service.
