Overview We are seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing accounts payable, and ensuring the smooth operation of our accounting processes. This role is essential for supporting our financial health and providing valuable insights into our business operations. Duties Reporting to CEO Processing payments, income and invoices and posting data into accounting software Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, bank statements, and company accounts. Manage employee expense claims Working closely with external accountants to deliver monthly management reports Completing VAT returns on a quarterly basis Posting payroll journals and reconciliation of wage control accounts, including agency payments and PAYE control Monitor financial transactions for accuracy and resolve discrepancies. Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies. Deliver year-end pack to auditors and act as the main point of contact for the duration of the annual audit Qualifications and Skills: Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar finance role. Strong knowledge of accounting principles and bookkeeping software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, Sage). Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel. Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines. Strong communication skills to collaborate with teams and external partners. AAT or similar accounting qualifications are preferred but not mandatory.
