About the Role:
As a Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for managing the classroom during the absence of the regular teacher. Working alongside the school's dedicated faculty, you will support the delivery of the curriculum, facilitate learning, and maintain a positive and productive classroom environment. This role also includes supervising students with SEND, ensuring their safety, and promoting positive behaviour in line with the school's policies.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise and support students in their learning during teacher absence, delivering pre-set work.
Ensure a safe and productive classroom environment, promoting positive values and attitudes.
Provide individual support to students, including those with SEND, ensuring access to learning activities.
Uphold the school's Behaviour for Learning policy and encourage students to take responsibility for their behaviour.
Manage classroom discipline and resolve incidents in accordance with school policies.
Provide feedback to teachers on student progress and classroom activities.
Requirements:
Previous experience working in a similar role within an educational setting is desirable.
A broad understanding of subjects taught at KS3 and KS4.
Strong classroom management and communication skills.
Ability to promote positive behaviour and encourage student engagement.
A valid DBS on the update service or willingness to apply for one.
