Pay Rate: £30.12 per hour (assignment rate)
Contract: Locum & 3-month contract
Hours: Full time, 37.5 hours per week

Duties:
* Deliver high quality clinical care within the Integrated Healthcare Service for the prison.
* Acute & primary care, long-term conditions management, enhanced assessment and diagnostic intervention services.
* Support the development of evidence-based practice in the specialist field.
* Participate in managerial and professional clinical supervision programme.
* Ensure the implementation of effective patient centred care planning tools.
* Work collaboratively with the Clinical Lead, GPs, and other clinicians.
* Deputise for the Team manager as required.
* Work positively and effectively in a difficult environment.
* Work in accordance with policies and guidelines.
* Promote equality of opportunity and respect for individuals.
Requirements of the Prison Primary Nurse:
* Exercise a high degree of personal and professional autonomy.
* Demonstrate expert clinical skills with a sound understanding of evidence-based nursing practice.
* Be aware of environmental hazards and ensure compliance with health & safety policies.
* Be familiar with Prison Standards and relevant materials.
* Professional Qualification (Registered General Nurse) (Essential).
* Post Graduate Qualification or equivalent experience.
* Minimum of two years’ experience at Band 5.
* Experience of working within secure & prison settings (desirable but not essential).
* Working knowledge of current issues facing prison/offender healthcare.
* Experience of multi-professional collaboration.
* Experience of setting, monitoring and evaluating standards of care.
* Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
* Ability to demonstrate understanding of change management.
* Ability to work effectively and autonomously.
* Ability to lead and empower people.
* Knowledge of current National Prison Health Quality & Performance Indicators.
* Good analytical and judgement skills.
* Excellent interpersonal skills.
* Ability to manage complex & challenging behaviour.
* Standard IT skills.
