Admiral Money are looking for a Mortgage Underwriter to join their growing Specialist Mortgages team!

The role
The purpose of the role is to support our business in building a strong, performing portfolio of customers by implementing our Lending Policy and delivering great customer outcomes.
* Ensuring SLAs are met and where possible, exceeded for our intermediaries and customers.
* Demonstrating an understanding of our Credit Policies, lending rules and appetite.
* Demonstrating an excellent knowledge of the Second Charges Market and Specialist Lending Market.
* As a mandate holder, interpreting the spirit of the FCA rulebook and demonstrating the desired outcomes.
* Ensuring all information for customers and creditors is correct, ensuring good outcomes for AFSL and the consumer.
* Communicating with external and internal customers to the highest standard.
* Ensuring loans are underwritten within mandate and are of the highest quality.
About you
* Preferably CEMAP qualified.
* Previous working experience in a regulated (preferably specialist) lending environment.
* Comfortable working to targets/deadlines.
* Analytical and comfortable in taking decisions and committing to action.
* Attention to detail is essential for ensuring accuracy.
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
* Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Please note this is a hybrid role based in our Cardiff office a minimum of two days a week, with working hours Monday - Friday 10am-6pm.
