A long-established Glasgow architectural practice is seeking a Project/Senior Architect or experienced Architectural Technologist to join their team on a permanent basis. Known for delivering high-quality commercial, hospitality, and retail architecture across the UK, they are now expanding their reach into the Middle East, with several live and upcoming projects in Dubai and surrounding regions. The successful candidate will play a key role in the delivery of major schemes both in the UK and abroad. This is a position that would suit someone with strong technical knowledge, confident client-facing ability, and a desire to take ownership of projects from inception through to completion. While the practice’s roots are in Scotland, their client relationships span internationally, and this role will involve occasional travel to the Middle East—particularly Dubai—for site visits, meetings, and design coordination. Travel will be limited to a few times a year, but flexibility and enthusiasm for international work is essential. The practice has built a reputation over four decades for being reliable, practical, and commercially minded. They value architects and technologists who can deliver, communicate clearly, and solve problems effectively. Their projects typically move at a fast pace, meaning the team thrives on efficiency, responsiveness, and a real-world understanding of construction. This isn’t a practice focused on conceptual competitions or boutique detailing; it’s a firm where buildings are realised, clients are repeat, and the work is grounded in delivery. Day to day, the successful candidate will be responsible for running jobs, liaising directly with clients, coordinating with consultants and contractors, and preparing technical information and packages. For architects, ARB registration is required. For technologists, MCIAT or significant demonstrable experience would be preferred. Proficiency in Revit is essential, as the office operates almost entirely in BIM. Candidates should be able to demonstrate strong technical ability, good understanding of UK building regulations, and experience of projects through all RIBA stages. In addition to UK-based commercial and hospitality work, the Middle East portfolio presents a unique opportunity to broaden experience and take part in international delivery with high-profile operators. This aspect of the role would suit someone who is culturally aware, confident in a client-facing environment, and excited by the prospect of working in a fast-evolving international market. Support will be provided for travel and accommodation when visiting sites abroad, and team members typically coordinate with Dubai-based consultants and clients remotely in the meantime. The practice operates from a well-located Glasgow office with a down-to-earth, close-knit team. The work environment is fast-paced and collaborative, with scope for progression for those who are self-motivated and accountable. Whether you’re a qualified architect with strong delivery experience or a seasoned technologist with a background in commercial sectors, this is an opportunity to join a respected team at a time of exciting expansion. Applications are welcomed from professionals who are looking to grow their technical portfolio, take on a new level of responsibility, and contribute to projects that span the UK and beyond.
