As a Lead Pharmacy Technician in our Dispensary at Rotherham Hospital, you will take on a vital leadership role within our high-performing pharmacy team. You will lead a team delivering safe, efficient and patient-focused services. This is an exciting opportunity to use your skills in staff management, service development, and training.
You will provide professional leadership to dispensary based staff and assist in the training and development of student technicians and assistants, and play a key role in ensuring quality through audits, error reporting, and pharmacy governance. Your role will also include contributing to seven-day service and maintaining a friendly and professional environment for patients and colleagues.
Based at Rotherham Hospital, this post will require the post holder to work evenings, weekends, and bank holidays as part of the rota. If you are a Pharmacy Technician with strong leadership and organisational skills and a passion for service improvement, we would love to hear from you.

Person Specification
Experience
* Liaise and communicate with medical staff and other health care professionals when appropriate with regard to prescription queries both face to face and over the phone.
* Experience of working in a dispensary.
* Experience of supervision of staff.
* Experience of managing the work of a team in order to deliver required performance outcomes.
Knowledge
* To undertake Continuing Professional Development.
* To be mindful of and work within the Code of Ethics of Pharmacy Technicians.
* Investigation of Datix incidents and near miss interventions, development and implementation of preventative action plans.
* Good awareness of the NHS and current challenges it faces.
Qualifications
* BTEC or NVQ 3 in Pharmaceutical Sciences
* Registered as a Pharmacy Technician with the GPhC
* IT training (MS Office)
* Supervisory Management experience
* Diploma in Management
