About the School:
* A specialist setting catering to students aged 5-16 who face barriers to learning due to SEMH needs, behavioural difficulties, or additional SEND requirements.
* Provides a nurturing and structured environment where students receive tailored support to help them reach their full potential.
* Staff work closely with multi-agency professionals, including educational psychologists, social workers, and therapists, to create individualised learning and behaviour plans.
* Focuses on restorative practice, emotional well-being, and positive behaviour reinforcement to encourage engagement in learning.
About the Role of Behaviour Mentor:
* Build strong, trusting relationships with students to support their emotional well-being and engagement in education.
* Work on a 1:1 basis or in small groups, delivering targeted interventions to improve behaviour, social skills, and self-esteem.
* Provide academic and pastoral support, ensuring students can access learning in a structured and supportive way.
* Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral staff to implement behaviour strategies and intervention plans.
* Encourage students to develop resilience, confidence, and coping mechanisms to succeed both in and out of school.
As the ideal Behaviour Mentor, you should have:
* Experience working with challenging behaviour, SEMH needs, or SEND students (within a school, youth work, or care setting).
* A calm, patient, and resilient approach, with excellent communication skills.
* Ability to build rapport with students who may have experienced trauma, exclusion, or disengagement from education.
* Strong behaviour management skills and the ability to remain professional in challenging situations.
* A commitment to safeguarding, inclusion, and promoting positive outcomes for young people.
