Job Description - Provide assistance for delivery of all cost, commercial and quantity surveying matters on designated projects from inception to completion. - To assist in the delivery of projects on budget in full accordance with Council and Service procedures. - Provide cost, feasibility and quantity surveying advice to Project Managers - All other duties commensurate with the grade. Responsibilities - Ensuring that plans are in place and continually up dated to achieve Service objectives and priorities - Actively assist and take ownership for designated detailed project commercial reports and maintain up to date at all times. - Ensure that all project related risks and issues are identified to the Council. - To carry out the necessary professional duties to effectively manage and coordinate commercial and cost matters on projects designated as part of a multi-disciplinary team. - To contribute and implement professional quantity surveying practice and procedures within Capital Programme Works Service. - Assisting the Principal Quantity Surveyor on the relationship management of key partners, suppliers and other core third parties, as applicable - Be active and responsible in compliance with Service procedures and professional practice development in Capital Programmes Projects to ensure the maintenance and improvement of knowledge and capabilities Requirements - Working towards MRICS or MCIOB or equivalent - Evidence of continued professional development Construction/Property related degree or extensive experience Contract - Initial 3-to-6-month ongoing contract - PAYE via Umbrella - Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm (Hybrid position)
