Contract: Full time (36.25 hours per week) / Permanent
Salary: 37,035 - 37,938

An exciting opportunity has arisen in the Shared Procurement Team of Chorley Council and South Ribble Borough Council. We are looking for an enthusiastic Procurement Officer to join our team who is committed to providing a positive and proactive service. The procurement team have a vital role to play in supporting the delivery of key projects for both councils.
You should be enthusiastic and confident with excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. This is an excellent opportunity for a Procurement Officer to develop and broaden their professional skills while working across two local authorities. Local government experience is preferred but not essential, and you should have a flexible approach to deliver in a busy and challenging environment.
What you'll be getting up to
1. Assisting in the efficient and effective delivery of the councils' procurement services.
2. Helping to ensure that procurement is carried out within the legal requirements, financial regulations, standing orders, protocols, and procedures of each council.
3. Assisting the Procurement Manager and Senior Procurement Officer in the development and implementation of Strategic Procurement Implementation Plans.
4. Being a key contact on all procurement-related services.
5. Supporting the development, maintenance, management, and operation of systems to ensure the effective monitoring and reporting of the councils' procurement activity.
Who we're looking for
1. CIPS qualified (or working towards it)
2. Experience of working in the procurement field ideally within a public sector organisation
3. Experience of arranging tenders and using public sector framework agreements
4. Experience of e-procurement activities
5. A sound understanding of the New Procurement Act 2023
Other requirements
1. This role requires some travel around our boroughs. You should have a valid driving licence or the equivalent mobility.
