Shaw healthcare is looking for a Nurse to join the team in Burleys Wood, Crawley. You will join a team that is fully committed to making a difference to the lives of those who we provide care for. About the service:
Situated in the town of Crawley, Burleys Wood is a modern care home providing elderly frail nursing and residential dementia care. We have 60 single ensuite bedrooms divided into 6 separate self-contained units, each with its own lounge/dining area.
We are looking for a compassionate and dedicated Care Home Nurse to join our team in providing high-quality care to our elderly service users with conditions such as Alzheimer's, Dementia, Parkinson’s, or other clinical diagnoses. The successful candidate will work closely with our team of care professionals to ensure that our service users receive the best possible care.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Assessing patients' health and care needs and developing care plans
2. Administering medication and monitoring service users' response
3. Providing nursing care, including wound care and palliative care
4. Liaising with other healthcare professionals to coordinate personalised care
5. Supporting service users with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, and toileting
6. Providing emotional support to service users and their families
7. Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records
8. Working within the Care Quality Commission (CQC) guidelines to ensure high standards of care
9. Contributing to the development and implementation of policies and procedures
10. Participating in the induction and ongoing training of new staff members
Qualifications and Experience:
1. Experience working in elderly care, including caring for patients with Alzheimer's and other dementia-related conditions
2. Knowledge of the Care Quality Commission (CQC) regulations and standards
3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
4. Ability to work effectively as part of a team
5. Ability to work independently and use own initiative
6. Commitment to continuing professional development
Working Hours: As and when required - shift times are 07:45-20:00 or 19:45-08:00
