The countywide Kernow & Isles of Scilly Keyworking (KIOSK) team are recruiting to a new Senior Keyworking Lead role. We are passionate about children and young people who need access to high quality help. You will work alongside the team manager, keyworkers and Allied Health Professionals to work with families and young people to prevent unnecessary inpatient admission. The team prides itself on hearing the voice of the child and the family and developing a sense of their lived experience to understand needs. Keyworkers work hard to deliver person centred care alongside other services at times of crisis, bringing services together to work on shared goals and improved outcomes.
You will bring knowledge and understanding of the needs of children and young people who are autistic or with a learning disability and deteriorating mental health. In return, you will be offered training to develop other areas of your practice in relation to the needs of this vulnerable group of young people. Working alongside other Allied Health Professionals, you will receive quality supervision and be given opportunities to develop the service alongside the Team Manager.
The KIOSK team are excited about this new role and we welcome applications from a range of disciplines or professions including but not limited to Learning Disability, Social Work, and Allied Health Professionals, but we are particularly interested in those who feel that Keyworking is their passion.
Main duties of the job
You will lead on accepting suitable referrals to the team and Dynamic Support Database, supporting other services to gain a better understanding of the role of Keyworking, Dynamic Support, and CETR's. You will support the team manager to allocate new referrals and ensure that keyworking assessment, formulation, and high quality interventions are delivered within key time frames. You will travel, as most keyworking interventions are within local communities, homes, or schools, reaching out to children and young people where they live, being creative and inspiring for our hard-to-reach families. At times when young people are admitted to an inpatient hospital, you will be expected to provide inreach within the hospital either in person or via Attend Anywhere. You will have experience of supervising staff and Safeguarding, and supporting staff on a day-to-day basis. You will need knowledge about child development, neurodiversity, and mental health. Holding a small active caseload of children and young people, who without keyworking interventions, would be at a higher risk of hospital admission, you will continue the keyworking journey of best practice, best outcomes, modelling, and reporting on the effectiveness of Keyworking. You will also be a team player, who is keen to support keyworkers with their own keyworking journey and be an ambassador for the values and culture of Keyworking across the wider Keyworking Network.
About us
We're an NHS community and mental health provider Trust based in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly. We deliver community and hospital-based care to improve people's physical and mental health. We also provide specialist support to people with dementia or a learning disability.
We are a people organisation and people matter to us. As part of the team, you'll help support the health and wellbeing of the people who live and visit this beautiful part of the UK.
Over 4,000 people make up the Trust. This includes doctors, nurses, therapists, plus admin and support staff.
We work in people's homes, in community clinics and bases. Some staff work from one of our 13 community hospitals. Our aspiration is to have great people, provide great care, be a great place to work and a great partner.
Just over 532,000 people live here. A third of people who live in Cornwall are supported by acute hospital services in Devon. As a result, we also work closely with our partners in Devon. In the summer, and during other holidays, lots of people choose to visit the area. This increases the numbers of people who use our services.
