We are seeking a Management Accountant to join our Finance team at Scottish Water. This role involves providing clear financial information and analysis to support business decision-making, cost tracking, forecasting, and control.
What you'll do
* Provide regular and ad-hoc financial reports on operating costs and communicate findings to the business team.
* Support forward planning and set financial performance targets within business plans, budgets, and forecasts.
* Develop tracking reports and analysis tools to enhance project cost control and understanding of whole life costs.
* Innovate in capturing and presenting financial and non-financial information, linking costs to activities and creating performance reports.
* Support and coach the business team on financial policies, processes, and controls.
What you'll bring
* A relevant accountancy qualification, or equivalent experience, or being part way through achieving one.
* Strong understanding of accounting principles and management accounting techniques.
* Ability to explain financial concepts clearly to non-finance colleagues and understand business processes.
* Confidence to challenge and influence others, including senior staff.
* Strong analytical skills to interpret cost data and identify trends.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with Oracle or similar financial systems.
* Willingness to work collaboratively across departments and contribute to improvement projects.
* Experience with Power BI and Oracle EPM is advantageous but training can be provided.
The role offers flexible and hybrid working arrangements, with some travel to Central Scotland offices.

* This is a Grade 7 role, starting at £41,000, with potential to increase to £51,970 based on performance.
