Job Title: Quality Engineer M&E
The Role:
We are seeking an experienced Quality Engineer with a mechanical and electrical bias to join our M&E team.
Candidates will have worked on infrastructure projects within railways, airports, highways, industrial buildings, etc.
The successful candidate will support the Quality and Commissioning MEP Lead on the Align C1 project, a 21.6-kilometre section of the UK High Speed 2 (HS2) rail line.
Key Responsibilities:
* Contribute to criticality assessments of sub-systems to ensure the right level of quality assurance and inspection activities.
* Assess and contribute to the Testing and Commissioning Plan and activities of sub-contractors.
* Guide sub-contractors in understanding Quality contributions to the project.
* Support project audits, reviews, and approval of documents as required.
Project Execution Controls:
* Report quality alerts and manage non-conformities.
* Ensure quality of modifications made during the project.
* Control project deliverables compliance through inspection and audits, authorizing presentation/delivery to the customer.
* Promote a culture of excellence by ensuring all Requests for Exception (REX) are managed and closely monitored to prevent occurrences.
Quality Performance Metrics:
* Facilitate problem-solving during project execution to reduce costs associated with non-quality.
* Engage relevant stakeholders in Customer issue-solving processes as needed.
* Implement an effective corrective and preventive action system.
* Provide support for progress periodic reporting through quality indicators and identify improvement opportunities.
Main Competencies:
* Bachelor's degree or equivalent/relevant experience.
* Experience in Testing and Commissioning.
* Experience managing Quality tools and problem-solving tools.
* Awareness of Processes and Products delivered in the project.
* Fluent in English.
* Experience in Quality/Audit is appreciated.
* Process and Project controls oriented.
* Excellent Communication skills and knowledge of T&C and Quality standards.
* Experience in operational activities and documentation management.
* Collaboration and team working.
* Right to work in the UK.
