Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Social Worker to join our Safeguarding Team. The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing, managing, and supporting children and families where there are concerns about child protection, neglect, or abuse. This role is crucial in ensuring the welfare and safety of vulnerable children while working closely with multi-agency partners.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct assessments and interventions in line with statutory frameworks, ensuring the safety and well-being of children at risk.
Develop and implement child protection plans, care plans, and other safeguarding measures.
Work closely with children, families, and carers to provide guidance and support tailored to individual needs.
Liaise with partner agencies, including police, health professionals, and education services, to ensure a multi-agency approach to safeguarding.
Attend and contribute to case conferences, strategy meetings, and court proceedings as required.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records, reports, and documentation in accordance with legislative and local authority requirements.
Undertake statutory visits and risk assessments to ensure the safety and well-being of children in need.
Work in accordance with the Children Act, Working Together to Safeguard Children guidance, and other relevant legislation and policies.
Requirements:
Qualified Social Worker (Degree or Master's in Social Work).
Registration with Social Work England (SWE) (or eligibility to register).
Minimum 2-3 years' post-qualification experience within a child protection/safeguarding team.
Strong knowledge of child protection procedures, legislation, and statutory guidance.
Experience in conducting risk assessments and developing safeguarding plans.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
Proficiency in report writing and maintaining accurate case records.
A valid UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
